I am just starting to blog and wondering about copyright for pictures….does this page pretty much do the trick? Thanks for your advice,

It pretty much states your case. Most people play fair…but there are always a few. I would suggest “watermarking” your photos or placing a copyright symbol on them like I do. People who “borrow” copy, ideas or photos is stealing and it’s a big pet peeve of mine. Good luck on your blog!

    Hi there!

Thanks to your yummy looking pot roast I found this blog. Because of your copyright page, I am adding a copyright page to my blog. Thanks for sharing your blogging knowledge.

Can giving credit be as simple as adding your link to the picture? I’m not using any of your pictures but in general. I like that you do point this out to ask for permission.

It depends on the person. Some folks (particularly professional photographers) require an e-mail ‘ask’ and I can understand why – their business and income depends on their talent and investment. For me a link is great for it gives me credit for my work and introduces someone to my blog. It is common courtesy and helps protect all of our uniqueness and originality. Thanks for asking!

  4. Hi Linda,

I’d like to link to your Lazy Day Pot Roast recipe on my site, Eat The Web, which is all about shining a light on, and giving credit to, the amazing cooking talent online. It would be nice to use a picture too, if we could. Of course, we’ll honor your preference.

Great idea to post your copyright statement. Fair and reasonable. Love it.

Looking forward to exploring more of your blog!

You certainly do have my permission. Thank you for asking! I’m honored for the mention.

It’s early days for Eat The Web, but we hope that as we grow we’ll be able to help you grow too.

Thanks for letting us highlight your recipe (it looks so good I’m making for dinner!).

        Best wishes,
